SRT Brand To Get Mystery Third Model
Unlike GM and Ford, Chrysler took a different route through bankruptcy. After a government-blessed alliance with Fiat, Chrysler spun off its trucks into the Ram brand, and did the same thing with the new Viper, creating the SRT brand. And while the Viper is the first SRT-badged vehicle from Chrysler, it won’t be the last.
Motor Trend reports that in addition to the Viper and the Challenger replacement (which everyone and their mother assumes will be called the Barracuda), the SRT brand will also an as-yet undecided third model. Motor Trend believes the third SRT vehicle will either be a pickup or two-seat sports car, though both present different issues.
A successor to the SRT-10 Ram could build on the success Dodge has had with its truck brand, as well as capitalize on Ford’s success with the SVT-Raptor. But the Raptor is still a Ford, while SRT is a different brand from Ram. That could get confusing for buyers, and fuel economy standards will make selling a high-horsepower sports truck difficult in coming years.
The other, more likely option was the much-discussed Dodge Demon, which would compete against the Mazda Miata. The problem here is that Fiat signed a deal with Mazda to share the Miata platform for a new Alfa Romeo. While a cheaper two-seat SRT roadster would be a welcome addition to the lineup, the likelihood of this happening is pretty far fetched. The Miata has a stranglehold on the two-seat roadster market, and unless Chrysler can do something to really set its roadster apart, it would likely suffer the same, slow death as the ill-fated Chrysler Crossfire SRT6.
Yet there are other options for the SRT brand. A smaller sport truck could provide an excellent base-level entry into the SRT brand, as could a hot hatchback based on an existing Fiat platform. What we’d really like to see is a return of the Dodge Magnum, but with better visibility and less truck-like proportions. What direction do you think Chrysler should take the SRT brand?

Warranty Special
Now that you've made your choice of a Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep®
Vehicle.
Congratulations, you've
made an excellent choice of vehicles and you can be assured of its quality and
the fact that Chrysler stands behind every vehicle. But now is the time to look
into protecting your investment with an extended warranty.
The sooner the better! Even if your car is covered by the original factory warranty, now is the time to lock-in on a great rate. If you wait until your factory coverage is expired, or worse, if your car breaks down out of warranty, it will cost you more money in the long run. Can you imagine if you locked-in on a fixed gas price five years ago? Think how much that would have saved. Like other insurances, a warranty will be less expensive if you lock-in while your car has lower miles and is in better condition. Think about it. Vehicles are not like fine wine - they don't age well with time. Over 86% of vehicles break down within the first two years of coverage expiring. Don't wait until it's too late. Get the coverage you need at a price you can afford today.

Chrysler History
The company was founded by Walter Chrysler (1875–1940) on June 6, 1925,[11][12] when the Maxwell Motor Company (est. 1904) was re-organized into the Chrysler Corporation.[13][14]
Walter Chrysler arrived at the ailing Maxwell-Chalmers company in the early 1920s. He was hired to overhaul the company's troubled operations (after a similar rescue job at the Willys car company).[15] In late 1923 production of the Chalmers automobile was ended.[16]
In January 1924, Walter Chrysler launched the well-received Chrysler automobile. The Chrysler was a 6-cylinder automobile, designed to provide customers with an advanced, well-engineered car, but at a more affordable price than they might expect. (Elements of this car are traceable to a prototype which had been under development at Willys during Chrysler's tenure).[17] The original 1924 Chrysler included a carburetor air filter, high compression engine, full pressure lubrication, and an oil filter, features absent from most autos at the time.[18][19] Among the innovations in its early years were the first practical mass-produced four-wheel hydraulic brakes, a system nearly completely engineered by Chrysler with patents assigned to Lockheed, and rubber engine mounts to reduce vibration. Chrysler also developed a wheel with a ridged rim, designed to keep a deflated tire from flying off the wheel. This wheel was eventually adopted by the auto industry worldwide.
Following the introduction of the Chrysler, the Maxwell was dropped after its 1925 model year run, although in truth the new line of lower-priced 4-cylinder Chryslers which were then introduced for the 1926 model year were basically Maxwells which had been re-engineered and rebranded.[20] It was during this time period of the early 1920s that Walter Chrysler assumed the presidency of Maxwell, with the company then ultimately incorporated under the Chrysler name.
